What makes you passionate about working in childcare? I am passionate about my role as I love seeing the children’s happy faces each day. I love setting them up with beautiful play environments and allowing them to learn as they choose. There is nothing more rewarding then walking into a room full of children and being crash tackled for a hug, it makes my day.

What makes your centre different from others? Our service is a standout because we love to show it off, we are so proud of what we do at the centre we share it with everyone. We believe the children are the centre of their own development and education and we have created a culture of curiosity wonder and awe.

Fun Fact about you: My fun fact would be the volume on the TV has to be on an even number.

I love being able to watch each child grow and develop into the amazing, creative little humans that they are. Being a part of that makes me smile every day. There is no better feeling than walking into a room and seeing each child’s face light up and then running up and giving me a big cuddle, it truly makes my day!

What makes your centre different from others? I believe our family of educators and teachers at Kids Academy Woongarrah have created a natural, authentic and organic approach to allow the children to explore themselves in a way that they are able to express their individuality. How would you apply the national Quality Standards and EYLF for Educational Programming? The National Quality Standard sets a high national benchmark for early childhood education and care in Australia, and I ensure these standards are followed promoting the safety, health and wellbeing of children. I focus on achieving outcomes for children through high-quality educational programs. families' understanding of what distinguishes a quality service through communication and practices. Audits are also created to ensure the 7 quality areas are covered and practiced for rating and assessment and aim to achieve an exceeding rating. This also means ensuring all educators are on the same page with the quality areas and understand their role. The Early Year Leaning Framework guides our program/ curriculum and emphasizes play-based activities to enhance early learning and the importance of communication and language (including early literacy and numeracy). The EYLF helps to guide educators for school readiness skills needed before leaving to go to big school as it covers the childhood years up to transition into primary school. I use the EYLF to Strategies to include Belonging, being respectful and acceptance of diversity. I show mutual respect for others and have knowledge of families within the centre while providing positive and caring relationships, appreciating children for their individuality. I engage and interact with all children and make families feel welcomed.
